Hello,
I just got back from Oklahoma and the ASA National Convention. We had had some major changes just approved for Championship Play in 2009 and beyond. Here are a few items that were changed for the upcoming year.
1. Home Run Rule -----------------
Eight - Class A & Major Coed
Six - Men's B
Four - Men's C, Women's C
Two - Men's D (There will be no more inning ending out for Men's D)
Zero - Men's E (innnig ending out at the Nationals ONLY)
2. Men's E - ASA has approved to have a Men's E Division recognizes nationally. This means that There will be a Men's E Western, Eastern, Northern and Southern Nationals, BUT it will NOT lead to a Hooters Championship.
3. Player Guidelines
- Players from the ASA restricted list can only participate in the Men's A or COed Open programs.
- Men's A - 2 Player's from the ASA Restricted players list
- Men's B - 3 A Rated players and no players from the Restricted players list.
- Men's C - 3 B Rated players and no players from the restricted players list or A players.
- Men's D - 3 C Rated players and no players from the restricted players list or A or B players.
- Men's E - 3 D Rated players and no players from the restricted players list or A, B or C players.
4. Creation of a National Softball Player Classification Board
We are looking for people to help us host ASA Tournaments next year, including National Qualifiers. If anybody is interested, please contact me directly.
If any of you have any questions on these items, please email me directly and I'd be more than willing to help answer the questions for you.
Thank you,
