***Update 8/9/2019***
The roster is almost complete! If you are not happy with your current team or situation we want to to come to an open workout. To finish off the fall roster we are currently looking for a pitcher wanting to gain more rubber time and a catcher looking to compete for the starting job!
Team information below.............
This team will be 07 based, but will look at and consider all strong and prepared 08’s as well. All positions will be open as the coaching staff moves into evaluations so if you are looking for rubber time, anchoring the dish, an infield home or charging through the green grass to take flight on a diving catch this opportunity is for you and your family!
The coaching staff taking this team has a lot of experience and is ready to lead this team into the future. They fit the organizational philosophy of personal growth, team dedication and athlete accountability. All players looking to join this team will be expected to push themselves to be the best they can be at all times and work together to accomplish team goals.
Coach Bio’s
Head Coach: Darrin Kitchen coached Division 1 Baseball for 5 years and softball for 7 years before returning to school to earn his Masters and Doctorate degrees in teaching physical education and coaching education. He was a Division 1, scholarship athlete who earned 1st team All-Pac 10 honors his senior year at Washington State University. He has served as an athletic director for 2 years, in addition to overseeing high school athletics as an Administrator for 7 years. Darrin’s philosophy in coaching is simple: 1) to teach the girls how to play the game of softball, and to do so with determination, perseverance and grit; 2) for players to obtain the physical skills necessary for competition at a high level; and 3) for players to develop positive relationships with their teammates and coaches.
Assistant Coach: Dan Vergara has coached Roseville Girls Softball for 8 years. He played baseball in high school and into the junior college ranks at American River. He was born and raised in Roseville and has owned a business for 21 years.
